𧩠Feature availability
PAVE is an evolving service. Some features described in this policy may not yet be available to every user or in every app version. PAVE only processes information where the relevant feature is available, where processing is necessary to provide that feature, and where any required permission or consent has been obtained.
π’ 1. Who we are
PAVE is operated by ARTEX STUDIOS LTD. For the purposes of UK data protection law, ARTEX STUDIOS LTD is the data controller for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy.

πΊοΈ 2. What PAVE is
PAVE is a walking, rewards and community map app. It helps users discover rewards, places, local activity, public map information and real-world experiences. PAVE is built around real-world discovery, which means location and map-based features are central to the service.
π₯ 3. Information we collect
When you use PAVE, we may collect the following categories of information.
- Account information: name, email address, username, profile information, authentication details, account settings and login information.
- Profile and social information: profile name, avatar, status, friend connections, friend requests, leaderboard activity, PXP or reputation information, achievements and sharing preferences.
- Location information: approximate or precise device location, location permissions, reward claim location, redemption proximity, map interactions, location-linked pins or reports and related timestamps.
- Background location and activity information: if you choose to enable background features, we may collect location or activity data when the app is not open, where permitted by your device settings.
- Health and fitness information: if you choose to connect Apple HealthKit or another compatible health or fitness service, we may process step count, distance walked or related activity data to power walking features, rewards, anti-fraud checks and user-facing progress where available and subject to your permissions.
- App activity: rewards viewed, claimed or redeemed, map interactions, pins viewed or submitted, confirmations, reports, screens visited, features used, timestamps and general usage patterns.
- User-generated content: map pins, reports, confirmations, photos, comments, text, images, status updates, categories, reactions, reviews or other content you submit, verify or interact with.
- Reward and business interaction data: whether a reward was viewed, saved, claimed, redeemed, expired, reported or restricted, and the business or location connected to that interaction.
- Device and technical information: device type, operating system, app version, language settings, crash logs, diagnostics, IP address, technical identifiers, performance data and security signals.
- Communications: email address, message content, screenshots, attachments and other information you provide when contacting us.
βοΈ 4. How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, secure, personalise and improve PAVE. In particular, we may use information to:
- Show nearby rewards, places, pins, activity and map content.
- Help you discover, claim, redeem and interact with rewards.
- Power walking features, progress, PXP, achievements and community contribution features where available in your app version.
- Support friend map, status, leaderboard and other social features where you choose to use them.
- Verify whether you are close enough to claim or redeem a reward.
- Prevent fraud, GPS spoofing, fake claims, spam, abuse, harassment and attempts to manipulate rewards, PXP or verification systems.
- Review, moderate, remove or restrict content that violates our rules or creates risk.
- Improve map relevance, product quality, app performance and user experience.
- Fix bugs, monitor crashes and improve reliability.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety and legal enquiries.
- Send important service, safety, security, legal and account messages.
- Comply with legal obligations.
π 5. Location data
Location is central to PAVE because the app is designed around real-world discovery. We use location to show nearby rewards, places, pins and activity; help users claim rewards; prevent misuse; verify redemption proximity; improve map relevance; and operate safety and community features.
Depending on your device settings and permissions, PAVE may collect approximate or precise location data while you use the app. You can control location permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work properly without location access.
We do not sell your precise location data. We do not provide businesses with your live personal location or full individual movement history.
π‘ 6. Background location and nearby alerts
If you choose to enable background location, background activity, nearby alerts or similar features, PAVE may collect location or activity data when the app is not open. We only use this where you have granted permission and where it is needed for features you choose to use, such as walking progress, nearby rewards, location-based alerts, reward eligibility, anti-fraud or safety features.
You can turn off background location or activity permissions at any time in your device settings.
πΆ 7. Health, fitness and walking data
If you choose to connect Apple HealthKit or another compatible health or fitness service, PAVE may process step count, distance walked or related activity data to power walking features, reward eligibility, progress, PXP, anti-fraud checks and user-facing insights where available and subject to your permissions.
We do not use Apple HealthKit or compatible health and fitness data for advertising, resale, business targeting or marketing profiling. We do not provide businesses with your private health or fitness data. You can disconnect these permissions through your device settings or the relevant health/fitness app settings.
π 8. Rewards and local businesses
PAVE may show rewards, offers, drops, gifts, experiences or local business content on the map. If you interact with a reward, we may process information such as whether it was viewed, saved, claimed, redeemed, expired, reported or restricted.
Where a reward is provided by a local business or partner, limited reward-related information may be shared where necessary to operate the reward, confirm redemption, prevent misuse, support the business or comply with law. For example, a business may see campaign analytics such as views, claims and redemptions.
Businesses do not receive your live personal location, private friend-map data, private health or fitness data, full individual movement history or private app activity unless you clearly choose to share it or it is strictly necessary to complete a reward redemption, prevent fraud or comply with law.
π₯ 9. Social, friend map and visibility features
If you use friend, social, leaderboard, status or community features, some information may be visible to other users depending on your settings and the feature. This may include your username, profile, avatar, status, approximate or shared location, reward activity, map contributions, confirmations, public pins, PXP, achievements or leaderboard position.
You should only share information that you are comfortable making visible to the intended audience. You can control certain sharing and visibility features in the app settings where available.
βοΈ 10. User content and public map contributions
If you submit content to PAVE, such as map pins, reports, confirmations, photos, comments, categories, descriptions, statuses or other contributions, that content may be visible to other users depending on the feature. Public map content may be associated with a place, time, category, status or approximate location.
You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not submit private, harmful, misleading, illegal, sensitive or rights-infringing information about yourself or others. Do not use PAVE to identify, shame, track, harass, expose or endanger private individuals.
We may review, moderate, remove, restrict or limit content that violates our rules, harms the service, creates risk for users or businesses, or may be unlawful. Moderation may involve automated tools and human review.
π‘οΈ 11. Safety reports and public risk information
PAVE may allow users to report public map information, including hazards, incidents, closures, unusual activity, safety concerns or other real-world information. These reports are community information tools and may not be verified. You should not rely on PAVE as an emergency service, security service, medical service or official public safety authority. In an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency services.
We may use reports, confirmations, location signals, timestamps and other contextual information to reduce spam, improve quality, highlight relevant information, remove harmful content and protect users.
π« 12. Fraud, abuse and platform integrity
We may use location signals, device signals, account behaviour, reward activity, redemption history, walking activity, technical data and other relevant information to detect and prevent fraud, GPS spoofing, spam, fake claims, reward abuse, harassment, unsafe activity and attempts to manipulate PXP, rankings or community verification.
We may restrict, suspend, remove or disable accounts, rewards, redemptions, pins, reports, PXP, status features or other activity where we believe this is necessary to protect PAVE, users, businesses or the public.
π 13. Analytics and diagnostics
We may use analytics, crash reporting and diagnostic tools to understand how the app is performing, identify bugs, improve features, measure usage and make PAVE more useful. These tools may collect device information, usage events, crash logs and technical data. Where required, we will ask for consent for non-essential analytics or tracking.
πͺ 14. Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites and web-based services may use cookies, local storage, pixels or similar technologies to operate the service, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance and secure accounts. Where required, we will ask for consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies. More detail is available in our Cookie Policy.
π 15. Sharing information
We may share information with trusted third parties where necessary to operate, secure and improve PAVE. This may include cloud hosting providers, database and infrastructure providers, analytics and crash reporting providers, authentication providers, app stores, payment or subscription providers where applicable, email and support tools, fraud prevention and moderation services, mapping or location infrastructure providers, professional advisers, lawyers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement or another company if ARTEX STUDIOS LTD or PAVE is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of assets.
We may share limited reward-related information with local businesses or partners where necessary to operate rewards, confirm redemption, prevent misuse or provide campaign analytics. We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your precise location data.
π£ 16. Marketing and service messages
We may send important service, safety, security, legal and account messages. Where permitted, we may also send product updates, reward information, onboarding messages or marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time. We may still send important non-marketing messages.
ποΈ 17. Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide PAVE, operate our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, protect users and businesses, improve PAVE and enforce our rules. Account data is usually kept while your account is active. Reward and redemption data may be kept for a reasonable period to operate rewards, provide analytics, prevent fraud and resolve disputes. User content may remain visible while it is relevant to the feature or community map unless removed, expired or deleted. Some technical, analytics, safety or security information may be retained for a limited period after you stop using the app. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise personal data unless we need to keep certain information for legal, fraud prevention, safety, security, dispute or legitimate business reasons.
π 18. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, object to certain processing, restrict processing, request a portable copy of your data and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also control many permissions through your device settings, including location, background location, notifications, contacts, photos and health or fitness permissions where applicable.
In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal data is handled. To exercise your rights, contact info@artex-studios.com. You can also initiate account deletion inside the app or read more at /consumer/delete-account.
π§ 19. Children and age limits
PAVE is not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it. Certain features may have higher age requirements depending on location, law, app store rules or feature type.
π 20. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no app, website, map, dashboard or internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for using PAVE responsibly.
π 21. International processing
Your information may be processed in the United Kingdom or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we take steps to protect information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, such as using standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms for international transfers.
π 22. Third-party services
PAVE may contain links or integrations with third-party services, such as app stores, payment providers, maps, local business websites, analytics tools, support tools or authentication providers. Those services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
π 23. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, by email or by another appropriate method. The latest version will always be available inside PAVE or on our website.
