⚖️ 5. Lawful bases for processing
Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases.
- Contract: to provide the PAVE Business service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interests: to improve the service, prevent abuse, secure the platform, provide analytics, understand business usage, support businesses and protect PAVE users.
- Consent: where we ask for permission, such as optional marketing communications or certain device permissions.
- Legal obligation: where we need to comply with accounting, tax, legal, regulatory or law enforcement requirements.
💳 6. Payments and subscriptions
Payments and subscriptions may be processed through Apple, RevenueCat, the relevant app store or other payment providers depending on the platform and purchase route available for your account. These providers may process payment information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not store full card details ourselves. We may receive limited subscription and transaction metadata so we can manage your account, confirm your plan, provide support, prevent fraud and comply with tax and accounting obligations.
📍 7. Business location and personal location
PAVE Business may process location information connected to your business, listing, campaign, reward, drop or redemption point. This is different from your personal device location.
We do not use the PAVE Business app to continuously track your personal location in the background unless this is clearly requested, necessary for a feature you choose to use and permitted by you through your device settings. You can control device permissions through your device settings.
🎁 8. Public business listings and rewards
Information that you choose to publish through PAVE Business may be visible to PAVE users and, in some cases, to the public. This may include your business name, business location, category, profile content, reward details, offer rules, images, logos, promotional materials, drop location, redemption information and campaign content.
You are responsible for ensuring that anything you upload is accurate, lawful and does not include personal data, images, music, branding or other material that you do not have the right or permission to use.
🚦 9. Business content rules
Businesses must not upload, publish or promote content that is misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, unsafe, harmful, infringing, privacy-invasive, sexually explicit, exploitative, hateful, violent, fraudulent, spammy or otherwise likely to harm users, businesses, PAVE or the public. We may review, restrict, suspend, remove or refuse business content, rewards, listings, drops or accounts where we believe this is necessary.
📊 10. Analytics and consumer privacy firewall
PAVE Business may provide analytics about rewards, drops, offers and business activity. This may include views, claims, redemptions, campaign performance, engagement, approximate aggregated location patterns, time-based performance, conversion rates and other campaign metrics.
Analytics may be aggregated, anonymised or limited where possible. Businesses do not receive PAVE users' private friend-map information, health data, full movement history, precise live personal location, private profile information or private app activity unless a future feature explicitly, lawfully and transparently changes that model, or the user has clearly chosen to share information needed to complete a reward redemption, prevent fraud or comply with law.
🔁 11. Sharing information
We may share information with trusted third parties where necessary to operate, secure and improve PAVE Business. This may include cloud hosting providers, database and infrastructure providers, analytics and crash reporting providers, authentication providers, payment and subscription providers, app stores, email and support tools, fraud prevention and moderation services, mapping or location infrastructure providers, professional advisers, accountants, lawyers, insurers, regulators, law enforcement or another company if ARTEX STUDIOS LTD or PAVE is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of assets.
We may also share public-facing business information inside the PAVE ecosystem, such as your business name, location, logo, description and active rewards or drops. We do not sell your personal data.
📣 12. Marketing communications
Where permitted, we may send product updates, onboarding messages, business tips, service announcements or marketing communications. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. We may still send important service, security, legal or account messages.
🍪 13. Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites and dashboards may use cookies, local storage, pixels or similar technologies to operate the service, remember preferences, understand usage, secure accounts, measure performance and improve PAVE Business. Where required, we will ask for consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies. More detail is available in our Cookie Policy.
🗄️ 14. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Account data is usually kept while your account is active. Business listing and campaign data may be kept while your business uses PAVE or while the listing, campaign or reward remains relevant. Subscription and transaction records may be kept as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Support messages may be kept for a reasonable period to resolve issues and improve the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise personal data unless we need to keep certain information for legal, fraud prevention, tax, dispute, safety or security reasons. Account deletion can be initiated inside the app and is explained at /business/delete-account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple-managed subscription.
🛡️ 15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no app, website, dashboard or internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for managing access permissions for your team.
🌍 16. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal mechanisms, to protect personal data when transferred internationally.
🙋 17. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, object to certain processing, restrict processing, request a portable copy of your data and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal data is handled. To exercise your rights, contact info@artex-studios.com.
🧒 18. Children
PAVE Business is intended for business users and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the PAVE Business service.
🔗 19. Third-party services
PAVE Business may contain links or integrations with third-party services, such as payment providers, analytics providers, app stores, websites, maps, business tools or support tools. Those services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
📝 20. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, dashboard, website, by email or by another appropriate method. The latest version will always be available inside PAVE Business or on our website.
